Joanne Prowse

Chief Executive

Joanne Prowse joined the PSA in 2010 and was appointed as Chief Executive in September 2015 after acting in the role since May 2014. She sits on the PSA Board.

Prior to joining the PSA, she was with the Performing Right Society (PRS for Music) where she rose to Managing Director for Membership and Operations with previous appointments of Executive Director for Membership and Communications Director.

Joanne is also a Board member of the Charity Commission for England and Wales and an Independent Non-Executive Director of The One Touch Switching Company (TOTSCo).

Joanne has a passion for classical music and is a Trustee for Chorleywood Music and a Director of Chorleywood Music Productions Ltd.

Meg Munn

Senior Independent Director, Chair of the Resources Committee

Meg is an independent governance consultant, Independent Chair of the Church of England’s National Safeguarding Panel, Deputy Chair of Governors at Sheffield Hallam University and a non-executive director of the Phone-paid Services Authority.

She works overseas on parliamentary processes, political party development and gender mainstreaming.

She is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. From 2001 to 2015, Meg was a Member of Parliament, which included being Minister for Women and Equality and a Minister at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

Mark Thomson

Chair of the Audit Risk & Corporate Governance Committee

Mark Thomson joined the Board in 2020. His last executive post was as Director General for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) & Her Majesty's Passport Office (HMPO) in the Home Office.  He was responsible for leading a global team of 13,500, managing 3m visa applications, 7m passports and 1m birth, death and marriage certificates p.a. and asylum and resettlement programmes. Mark drove a culture of customer service and operational excellence with a firm emphasis on national security.

He was also Registrar General for England & Wales, appointed by The Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister. Before joining Government, Mark had a number of Managing Director and director level positions in a 30 year career in Royal Mail Group.

Winnie Palmer

Member of the Audit, Risk & Corporate Governance Committee

Winnie Palmer has a strong background in the tech and mobile sectors and is an adviser on go-to-market to various international businesses.

Winnie is currently Senior Director of Marketing at Seismic Software UK where she is leading Seismic’s marketing function, expanding and internationalising the business to the EMEA region.

Winnie is Director at Morphosis Limited and a Non-Executive Director at London Tech Advocates Women in Tech working group.

Previously Winnie has been a member of the Board of Greenwich University and worked in senior roles for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Huawei, Microsoft and Nokia.
