We are the UK regulator for content, goods and services charged to a phone bill.

Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the Act”) gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, sets out exemptions from that right, and places a number of obligations on public authorities. One such obligation is to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme (“Scheme”) which provides easy access to certain types of information. A ‘public authority’ is defined in the Act, and includes (among others) specified non-departmental public bodies.

Phone-paid Services Authority is not a designated public authority for the purposes of the Act, and is therefore not currently subject to the Act. However, in compliance with recommended best practice, it has produced and maintains a Scheme.

Publication Scheme

Our Scheme enables access to information which is already (or which in future will be) published by us, and is therefore available to the general public. We have provided a list of (and links to) the information we provide under the Scheme. We can also provide soft or hard copies of any information published under the Scheme (charges may be applicable).

Requests for copies of documents in our Scheme, or questions, concerns and complaints relating to our Scheme should be addressed to:

Delivery of information under the scheme

We will endeavour to send you copies of any information you have requested by email or post within 20 working days of receipt of your request. If this is not possible for any reason we will contact you within this time period to let you know why. If there are any charges due, details of this will be provided within the relevant scheme information pages/documents, and these will need to be paid in advance. If you request further hard copies we may charge you for photocopying and postage. You will be advised of this on receipt of the request.

We will publish all documents under the Scheme in English. Publications in large print are available on request.

Intellectual property rights

All intellectual property and related material accessed through this Scheme is owned by Phone-paid Services Authority or licensed to us. The provision of documents via this Scheme does not give the person or organisation who receives them an automatic right to re-use the documents in a way that would infringe copyright, for example, by making multiple copies, publishing and issuing copies to the public.

Permission to reproduce material does not extend to any material accessed through the Scheme which is owned by third parties. You must obtain authorisation from the third parties concerned to reproduce such material.

Changes to our scheme

We will update our Scheme periodically and we are committed to reviewing the content of its Scheme each year.
